Belarus, in eastern Europe, is bordered by Russia, Poland, Ukraine, Lithuania and Latvia. From 30th June to 7th July, 57 Sathya Sai volunteers came together at a family camp in Belarus. The camp included workshops, cultural programmes, human values classes for children, teachers’ meetings and training, and games and activities, with emphasis on environmental stewardship. Children’s human values classes are held daily, focused on conservation of resources (money, food, time and energy), and participants created symbols representing each of the five basic elements of creation, which later adorned the camp. Each evening, family groups performed dances, sketches and dramas to underscore the importance of conserving natural resources. The youth also organised a festive Sai Olympics. Camp participants were grateful for the experience of unity and harmony with nature at the camp.
