At the end of May 2026, SSSIO of Zone 8 held its 15th Small Interregional Volunteer Camp in Russia’s North-Western Region, bringing together 15 participants from four Russian cities along with four guests and two children.
Volunteers repaired and painted the cafeteria at the children’s boarding school and installed gutters on the roof, while the social team collected and distributed 22 packages of food and household items to people and families in need.
Children alongside adults joined a forest hike led by a tourism instructor and took part in art and clay-modeling classes. A visiting medical professional led morning exercises and offered therapeutic massages throughout the camp.
Finally, the participants joined a zonal teleconference as part of the Clean Planet project, after which they collected garbage in the forest park on the lake shore and took out five bags of garbage. They also visited two Orthodox monasteries to pray and collect blessed spring water.
