Six members of the Sri Sathya Sai Group of Orlando, Florida, joined over 170 volunteers for a cleanup of the banks of the St. Johns River on April 20, 2024. The cleanup was part of the St. Johns Riverkeeper’s project to maintain a thriving watershed and sustain a healthy ecosystem for future generations. Sai volunteers, with their garbage bags and pick-up pinchers, worked diligently to clear up trash along the shoreline in downtown Sanford Park. A local news reporter interviewed the group, which highlighted SSSIO-USA’s core mission to save the environment and plant a million trees. A volunteer explained the importance of the river cleanup, as trash is destroying oceans and waterways. Another volunteer expressed her spiritual and emotional connection to nature, emphasizing her commitment to saving the planet.
