St Vinny’s Bistro is a shelter in downtown San Antonio in Texas, operated by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul of the Archdiocese of San Antonio. It provides three hot, nutritional meals each day, 365 days a year, serving an average of 1,000 meals per day to the needy. Since the end of April 2020, volunteers from the Sathya Sai Center of San Antonio have helped prepare hot meals every week for about 600 recipients at the St Vinny’s Bistro, consisting of rice, a vegetable dish, and some fruit. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, precautions are taken to ensure that the items are procured, cooked, and distributed with strict adherence to safety and social distancing guidelines.

The Chief Executive Officer of St Vinny’s Bistro expressed heartfelt appreciation to the SSIO volunteers for preparing food for the homeless in the community. The Executive Chef at St Vinny’s Bistro thanked the SSIO volunteers for procuring supplies and cooking delicious dinners, and said, “Your group has been such an inspiration to the Bistro and me. You’re such an important part of our organization and I hope you know that we would love to continue our partnership for years to come.”
