Pietermaritzburg is the capital and second-largest city in the province of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. On 19th October 2019, the Golden Jubilee (50 years) of the SSIO of South Africa was celebrated in Pietermaritzburg. In 1969, Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba appeared in a dream to Girla Naidoo at her home in Pietermaritzburg and instructed her to find a certain bhajan book, in a certain place, and begin singing bhajans. To her utter astonishment, the book was found exactly as directed and the first Sai Bhajan session was held in South Africa. The Golden Jubilee celebrations were held in 2019 at the same location.
