Kroonenburg is a small village of about 67 families in a former coffee plantation in the Commewigne district of Suriname. On 21st July 2019, 19 SSIO volunteers including 11 Young Adults organised a medical camp in Kroonenburg. A doctor, with the help of the volunteers, lovingly served 33 people, and supplied medicines. Blood glucose , blood pressure, and Body Mass Index (BMI) were measured. The volunteers provided preventive health education on the topics of diabetes, hypertension and healthy diet, and distributed food hampers to 20 needy people in the village.
