Inspired by the tenets of Sathya Sai Ideal Healthcare for impoverished communities at the 2009 International Medical Conference, Ms. Elizabeth Benson Forer CEO of the Venice Family Clinic in Southern California, offered the clinic facilities to the SSIO for medical services. The clinic, affiliated with the University of California of Los Angeles (UCLA), serves extremely needy communities with limited access to healthcare. Since May 2010, SSIO volunteers at the clinic have offered free medical services to the needy on alternate Saturdays, providing dental care, primary care, paediatric care and endocrinology services to around 25 patients daily. Two medical professionals and three to five general volunteers serve the patients, who are also provided with refreshments.
