Every month, volunteers from the Sathya Sai Centre of Cooksville present a musical programme called ‘Melody of Divine Love’ at the Erin Meadow retirement home in Mississauga. On 28th October 2018, the volunteers celebrated both Thanksgiving and the Hindu festival of Navaratri with the residents of the home. The evening started with a small introduction onthe significance of “Thanksgiving.” The volunteers sang devotional songs, and a young talented poet presented his poem on Thanksgiving, titled “You Have Made a Difference.” A talk about the significance of the Navaratri festival was greatly appreciated by the residents. The volunteers also entertained the guests with a variety of songs familiar to the elderly, so they could sing along. The song list included, “All Things Bright and Beautiful”; “Jesus Loves Me”; “Make Me a Channel of Your Peace”; and “10,000 Reasons.” Most residents joined in the singing and everyone enjoyed the musical offering.
