During Christmas 2016, members of the Sathya Sai Centre of Hutt Valley realised that the indigent Maori and Pacific Islander families at a local school were unable to afford basic food items, while everyone else was celebrating Christmas with food and presents. Touched by this plight, Sathya Sai volunteers prepared Christmas hampers with basic grocery items, toiletries, and festive food, and distributed them to 15 needy families, identified by the school and totalling about 80 people. The families were very grateful and deeply touched by the generosity. Young Adults and children of the Sathya Sai Centre also performed Christmas carols at a nursing home for the elderly, where some of the residents were unable to attend church elsewhere because of their disabilities. Christmas gifts were presented to 50 residents of the senior home.

On a beautiful sunny afternoon, 30 members of the Sathya Sai Centre of Northshore uplifted the spirits of 40 residents of the Onewa Lode Hospital and Rest Home by performing popular and traditional Christmas carols. This service was part of their tenth annual performance at this location.
