As a part of Serve the Planet initiative, a project titled “Switch Off to Switch On” was organised for 10 days, starting on 10th October 2013, to switch off electronic gadgets and focus on inner spiritual activities. Educational activities were organised to respect Mother Earth by encouraging efforts not to waste natural resources. On 19th October, a programme titled “Children – Our Future” was held at the Sathya Sai Centre. The 10-day event included videos, children’s programmes, short skits and a guided meditation session. On Kowloon and Hong Kong Island, 18 Sathya Sai volunteers distributed 180 Sai Seva Packets, consisting of a cup of noodles, homemade dumplings, sandwich, biscuits, cake, fruit, water and 3-in-1 tea mixtures on the morning of 20th October. On the same day, 22 Sathya Sai devotees from the Tsuen Wan Centre served 121 boxes of hot meals to the needy in Kowloon.
