On February 26, 2025, members of the Sri Sathya Sai Centers of Hamilton and Rotorua, NZ, celebrated Maha Shivaratri with a 4.5-hour devotional program at the Phoenix Hall in Hamilton. Forty participants, including a few guests, participated in the blissful event. The program began with Vedic chants and Rudram, followed by 90 minutes of bhajans, with songs dedicated to Lord Shiva. The ceremony included Linga Abhishekam (the ritual bathing of the sacred lingam), accompanied by the chanting of the auspicious mantras,  “Om Nama Shivaya” and “Om Sai Ram.” The audience also heard a discourse by Sri Sathya Sai on the importance of Shivaratri. The evening was deeply fulfilling, with participants feeling spiritually connected to the divine through prayer, worship, and rituals.
