Since November 2021, 20 members from the Sri Sathya Sai Center of South Houston have helped Afghan refugee families resettle by providing them with groceries, kitchenware, and essential supplies. The volunteers helped the newcomers improve their English, enroll their children in schools, have access to laptops, and find jobs. They continue to provide support to the families as needed.

In January 2022, SSSIO members began delivering groceries to other newly arrived refugees living in a nearby apartment complex. They have provided about 150 bags to over 350 refugees, and 50 volunteers have continued this service monthly.
