The week of Valentine’s day in February is celebrated in the United States as the National Salute to Veteran Patients Week to honour more than 9 million military veterans in Veterans Affairs (VA) medical hospitals, outpatient clinics, and nursing homes. The Sai Spiritual Education (SSE) children at the Louisville Sathya Sai Centre in Kentucky observed the occasion by making colourful ‘Thank You’ cards for the veterans.  The VA Medical Centre Coordinator reported that the cards brought a lot of smiles and touched the hearts of the recipients. One of the SSE children reflected, “Veterans give a lot to our country. They are the reason we can sleep peacefully at night. It is nice to be able to do something for them and show that we appreciate them.”
