On July 30, 2020, Tropical Storm Isaías made landfall in Dominican Republic, damaging more than 1,000 homes in Hato Mayor, a province in the eastern part of the country, and displacing thousands of people. SSIO volunteers immediately responded by identifying the families most affected by the storm and delivered 55 care packages of nonperishable food, sheets, towels, household utensils, and clothes for women, men, and children. The families expressed their gratitude for the help received.
