Since 2010, SSIO volunteers have conducted SSEHV activities and training programmes in Haiti to help the needy and the destitute. In August 2017, 45 teachers and students participated in a five-day SSEHV programme in the capital city, Port-au-Prince. A two-day introductory course was followed by three additional days of in-depth study. An introductory course was also conducted in St. Marc, a town north of Port-au-Prince, about two hours away by road, with 27 teachers and students participating. Both sessions included presentations, written assignments, and evaluations. The well-received training generated enthusiasm, understanding, and a determination to practise human values. Due to significant interest, a Human Values Committee has been formed to promote SSEHV in Haiti and prepare future training programmes and events.
