The Sathya Sai Centre of Metropolitan New York hosted a public discussion on the universal teachings of Sathya Sai Baba on Saturday, 15th November 2016. The event, conducted in Spanish with simultaneous English translation, attracted 110 people, including 50 who were new to Sathya Sai Baba’s teachings. This was the first event of its kind for the Hispanic community of New York. The theme of the discussion was “Be Happy,” and guest speakers included Mr. Leonardo Gutter, member of the Prasanthi Council, and Mr. José Alberto Cabezas of the SSIO of Central America. Mr. Gutter discussed the role of spirituality in life and gave practical tips on how to lead a happy life. The event featured traditional music by Andean musicians from South America, a video about the SSIO, and an artistic digital presentation. At the end of the meeting, attendees received books about Sathya Sai Baba and a brochure with contact information on the seven Sathya Sai centres in New York City, along with T-shirts bearing the watchwords Be Happy.
