The SSIO of South Africa conducted an innovative service project from November 2014 to January 2015, delivering school shoes to needy children. SSIO members donated 14,000 pairs of shoes for this project. Sathya Sai Centres in various regions of South Africa compiled a list of destitute children in need of shoes, along with their shoe sizes and other relevant information. Sathya Sai volunteers then sorted, packed, and shipped the shoes to all provinces in South Africa, distributing them in cities as well as villages, to children’s homes, orphanages, and schools. A total of 87 schools were covered, including three Sathya Sai Schools in South Africa. The smiles on the faces of children receiving their new shoes was a sight of pure joy and love.
