Ronald McDonald House provides vital support to families of hospitalized children, offering a comforting refuge for rest, nourishment, and practical assistance. Eleven members of the Sri Sathya Sai Center of Louisville participated in “Meals from the Heart” at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kentuckiana. Four SSE students and seven adults collaborated to prepare and serve a flavorful Indian meal to approximately 60 guests. The menu featured naan, chole, raita, fried potatoes, rice, and chocolate chip cookies. Meal preparation took 90 minutes, followed by 90 minutes of service. After dining, volunteers packed and stored leftovers for latecomers.

The SSE students found the experience deeply rewarding. “Helping prepare and serve the meal made me feel like I was making a real difference during a stressful time for the families,” one student shared. Adult volunteers also shared their reflections. “Even a quiet ‘thank you’ and a sincere smile let us know our love was felt,” one volunteer noted. “Each opportunity to serve strengthens my gratitude and reminds me that small acts of kindness are invaluable,” added a senior member.
