A depression in the Bay of Bengal caused heavy rains and cyclonic conditions, leading to severe flooding in Sri Lanka’s northern and eastern regions, displacing families. From November 27 to December 1, 2024, the SSSIO Sri Lanka conducted a flood relief effort, providing essential aid guided by love and selfless service in areas such as Gemunupura in the Colombo District, Thavadi, Urelu, Chankanai, Ponnamma Village, Mariyamman Village, Pokkanani Village, Katkovalam, Punithanagar, Old Punithanagar, Kaligai, Thunnalai, Thirumalpuram, Point Pedro and Kanpola in the Jaffna District.

Around 30–40 SSSIO volunteers distributed over 4,100 meals, including cooked food and snacks, across affected areas in the Colombo and Jaffna districts. Additionally, relief packs with food, hygiene items, and necessities were provided to over 125 families, benefiting more than 370 people in the Trincomalee District. Specific aid such as milk powder, sanitary pads, and diapers was given to selected beneficiaries.
