Volunteers from the Sri Sathya Sai Center of North Houston, Texas, collaborated with a soup kitchen in downtown Houston to distribute meal bags to the homeless on New Year’s Day 2021. On December 30, 2020, a team of ten volunteers packed 300 meal bags, each containing a ready-to-eat meal and snacks. Each bag also contained a pair of thermal socks and two home-baked cookies lovingly made by Sai Spiritual Education (SSE) children. On January 1, 2021, the volunteers distributed the bags to over 250 homeless people. One of the volunteers shared, “I was very happy and joyful to be a part of this service. It was a great way to start the year.”
