During February 22–25, 2020, SSIO volunteers in Ponta Grossa, Brazil, organized the third annual public outreach event. This year, the theme of the event was centered on environmental care, conscious consumption, and recycling. The program included conferences that raised awareness on recycling, humanity’s role in the universe, and the importance of taking care of the planet. Discussions were held on the five human values and various religions, including Christianity, Islam, and Buddhism, in the context of connecting spiritual awareness to environmental conservation. To wrap up the event, practical workshops were held on how to make soap and recycle paper to create toy animals. The program ended with the adoption of a community garden where volunteers planted vegetables.
