As the world combats the Coronavirus outbreak and pandemic, hospitals have faced an acute shortage of facemasks to protect front-line medical workers. The Ladies Wing of the Toronto East Sai Center used their sewing skills to make masks to serve the medical workers. With love and dedication, 11 SSIO volunteers stitched and donated 1,445 masks to the Toronto East General Hospital, also known as the Michael Garron Hospital. As of mid-2020, the volunteers plan to continue this service as long as face-masks are needed by the hospitals.
