A sandwich distribution project at the Cooksville Sai Centre started as a small initiative to deliver food to the hungry near Toronto. It has since become part of the Sathya Sai Education in Human Values (SSEHV) classes held by the Centre to inspire the virtues of charity and service in young children and simultaneously promote the welfare of the community. On the first Saturday of every month, one class is chosen to prepare 30 lunch bags, each containing a vegetarian sandwich, cookies, fruits and a juice box, which are then distributed at a nearby shelter for the needy. The activity offers a welcome change in perspective for the students, and joins an extensive service repertoire conducted by SSIO volunteers from Cooksville.
