On 24th April 2018, Sathya Sai devotees in Brazil celebrated World Human Values Day with Walk for Values events at three Sathya Sai Schools around the country. The Sathya Sai School of Ribeirao Preto in Sao Paulo shares its premises with the Brazilian Institute of Sathya Sai Education. This year’s Walk for Values represented the culmination of an Environmental Improvement Project started in February. With the aid of the municipality, the school repaired public access areas serving the community and installed placards made by the students with messages about preserving nature and the environment.
The Sathya Sai School of Vila Isabel organised its second Walk for Values this year. The children, along with teachers and volunteers, visited nearby gasoline stations, a drugstore, a supermarket, and a shopping centre and interacted lovingly with customers. They talked about Sathya Sai Baba’s teachings on human values and presented members of the public with small, hand-made gifts containing these messages. The event’s grand finale was a beautiful choir presentation at the shopping centre, highlighting a song inviting everyone to plant the seeds of peace and love within their minds and hearts. At the Sathya Sai School of Goias, in a rural district near the state capital, Goiania, the Walk for Values started with a bus trip from the School to Aparecida de Goiania, the nearest village. There, the children offered white balloons bearing messages of Sathya Sai Baba to passers-by. The children also sang values-themed songs at the city’s main square and visited the local library where they donated human values–oriented books.
