With participants hailing from 19 cities in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Kazakhstan, a youth conference and festival was held during 5–7 March 2016, in Moscow, attended by 26 Sathya Sai youth, 13 SSIO members and 18 others. The conference theme was “Love in Communion.” The youth came together to share their talents, dive deeper into Sathya Sai Baba’s message on divine love and how to practice living in love. Working together, they exchanged new experiences and deepened their understanding of human values and the functions of the SSIO. The International Youth Coordinator, Dr. Shivendra Kumar, gave an inspiring speech through Skype. The Youth Coordinator of Russia, Ms. Olga Baranova, presented a video about regional, national, and global youth projects undertaken last year, and new projects planned for 2016. In an interesting exercise, the youth role-played practical life situations to help solve problems related to communications. Two creative workshops were held, with the first one benefitting an orphanage, where felt hearts and owls were created as gifts for needy children. In the second workshop, the youth made origami flowers to offer at Swami’s altar. Among other events, a Sai Olympic was organised by three teams, engaged in a variety of sports. Finally, a wonderful and inspirational concert, featuring beautiful songs, wise parables, poems, and dances brought the conference to a happy ending. The youth conference and festival brought much joy to all. Inspired by new ideas, and strengthened by their faith in Swami, the youth returned home to share their experiences with other Sathya Sai devotees.
