From September 13–15, 2024, the National Devotional Wing of the Italian SSSIO held a public meeting in Assisi, Italy, titled “The Eternal Quest for the One: The Spiritual Way from Symbology to Advaita.” Fifty participants, including five non-devotees, engaged enthusiastically in discussions, activities, and spiritual explorations. The program included presentations on spiritual symbology, including “The Enchanting Light” (divine light as an archetype) and “Viveka, the Supreme Discrimination.”
A spiritual pilgrimage to St. Francis’s sacred sites in Assisi was accompanied by reflections on his teachings. A fun, symbolic “Goose Game” tailored to Sai’s teachings fostered joy and engagement. Talks on “Sacred Knowledge” (symbols of the sun and snake as tools for spiritual realization) and “Loka: From Birth to Unbirth” (transcending duality and illusion) enthralled the participants. Finally, visiting the Basilica of St. Francis allowed the participants to reflect on his universal spiritual legacy and connection to the One. The event beautifully blended symbolic teachings, meditation practices, and the spiritual legacy of St. Francis, inspiring participants to deepen their journey toward universal spirituality under the guidance of Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
