On March 2, 2025, 25 volunteers from the SSSIO New South Wales Region, including 18 SSSIO members, 5 Sai Spiritual Education (SSE) students, and 2 environmental supporters, took part in Clean Up Australia Day at Kissing Park Reserve, Putney. After a safety briefing, volunteers split into groups to clean various sections of the park, focusing on collecting and sorting waste like plastics, paper, and glass. The mild, overcast weather made for pleasant working conditions. The event fostered a strong sense of community, bringing families, youth, and environmental advocates together. Special thanks were given by Councilor Penny Pederson and Evelyn Hwang from the Ryde City Council. The day concluded with prayers and a shared meal. The SSSIO team expressed gratitude to Clean Up Australia Day sponsors and looks forward to organizing more environmental service activities in the future.
