Young volunteers from the SSE program in Northern California are making a meaningful impact through two ongoing service projects at Prashanthi Nilayam in Tracy, California. Every third Sunday, they join adult volunteers to prepare and deliver sandwiches to homeless individuals at a local shelter and nearby encampment—over 400 sandwiches have been served to date.

The students also care for the environment by helping to plant fruit trees such as oranges, apples, lemons, and figs. The trees are named after characters from the Mahabharata and Ramayana, blending nature, culture, and spirituality. These projects nurture compassion, responsibility, and a deep sense of connection with both humanity and the earth.
