The SSSIO-USA Southeast Region planted nine trees at their annual retreat in Fruitland Park, Florida. Three lemon trees and three fig trees were donated by two SSSIO members, a master gardener, and the Envirocare Coordinator. They conducted several Zoom workshops to educate SSSIO members on how to plant trees and ensure they survive and thrive. Another two trees – a magnolia and a palm tree – were donated by the Sri Sathya Sai Center of Orlando. A “bonus” tree was found in the pot, so nine trees were planted.
Around 30 people gathered for the tree planting ceremony to bless the ground and trees and offer prayers for this reforestation effort.
