Members of the SSSIO New Zealand, as part of their ongoing commitment to environmental restoration, have been regularly involved in several tree-planting activities organized by various conservation groups. On September 2, 2023, fifteen SSSIO volunteers joined a streamside initiative organized by Conservation Volunteers New Zealand along the Brookby Stream, Papakura, in South Auckland. The group planted about 800 trees along the stream to reduce erosion and remediate environmental degradation, supporting the stream’s health and vitality and the broader ecosystem. Participants had an enjoyable day working together, and the organizers much appreciated their efforts.
