Volunteers from four Sri Sathya Sai Centers in Brazil have been serving 100 impoverished families in a rural municipality in Rio Grande do Norte, where residents lack drinking water and sanitation facilities. In June 2017, SSSIO volunteers held a medical camp. Between 2018 and 2021, they distributed food baskets and fruit tree seedlings and donated furniture, home appliances, and school supplies to needy families. Further, SSSIO members constructed and renovated houses and helped residents access clean drinking water. Residents were taught skills such as sewing and playing musical instruments. They were also treated to many enjoyable events, including Christmas celebrations.
