In March 2021, ladies from the Pacific Northwest Region of the SSSIO, USA served many homeless women in their communities by distributing hygiene kits. Volunteers from each Sri Sathya Sai Center reached out to a local woman’s shelter to request a list of necessities needed by the shelter residents. A total of 340 hygiene kits were assembled, following local Covid-19 guidelines, and distributed at the shelters. Each kit contained travel-sized shampoo, conditioner and body wash, bars of soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, Chapstick ointment, body lotion, deodorant, razor, and mouthwash. Although commonly taken for granted, these items enable homeless ladies observe personal hygiene. Volunteers also included cards with inspiring messages in the kits to bring cheer to the recipients.
