On 21st September 2019, three Sathya Sai Schools in Brazil celebrated “Tree Day”, which coincided with the International Day of Peace. Sathya Sai Schools of Vila Isabel and Goias planted Brazilian native species of redwood, yellow ipe and white ipe trees. In Goias, several planting activities were carried out in the school garden. Many families took home saplings donated by the local municipality. Students from the Vila Isabel School also planted saplings at a local community square and placed small placards identifying each sapling. The day concluded with inspiring prayers and songs for peace.
