Lautoka is the second largest city of Fiji. It is situated on the island of Viti Levu – the nation’s biggest landmass. Lying in the heart of the sugar cane-growing region, it is known as the Sugar City. The Golden Age Home, located about 5 km from the central business district of Lautoka, is managed by the Social Welfare department of the Fiji Government. The home serves 22 elderly residents who have been abandoned by their families. On 13th January 2019, SSIO young adult volunteers, Sai Spiritual Education (SSE) children and a member from the Sathya Sai Centre of Drasa, visited the home to serve the residents. Responding to input given by the staff, the volunteers distributed much needed groceries and supplies, and lovingly conversed with the seniors
