On a beautiful warm sunny day in May 2019, 17 volunteers, including eight from three SSIO Centres in St. Petersburg, participated in the “All-Russian Forest Planting Day.” Organised by the St. Petersburg GKU “Resort’s Forest Park” as part of the “Gift the Forest” project, it was a wonderful celebration of Nature through reforestation. At a site where there had previously been illegal construction, the volunteers planted 100 pine seedlings. At the end of the programme, the volunteers enjoyed a pot-luck lunch, organised by the Forest Park Service.
