During the Memorial Day weekend in May 2018, 45 SSIO members who were attending the Unity Retreat, participated in a gardening service project at the Willow Bend Environmental Centre in Flagstaff, Arizona. The volunteers cleaned the area, removed weeds, shovelled and raked the soil, planted new saplings, and repaired and beautified the Meditation Garden. They also felt immensely gratified for the opportunity to care for the environment. The facility staff, in turn, expressed their deep gratitude for the loving service rendered by the SSIO members, as the facility had neither the personnel nor the funds to carry out all the work that the SSIO volunteers performed in one weekend.
