Sathya Sai Centres and Bhajan Groups across the country observed devotional activities, bhajans, and service activities to commemorate Avatar Declaration Day. A highlight of the occasion was the laying of the foundation stone for a community drinking water project in a hilly area to serve 335 families as well as 355 students of a community school. Food was lovingly served to more than 5,000 people. Special relief packages, consisting of groceries for a month and clothing for an entire family, were distributed to 30 destitute families. Other service activities included serving more than 220 patients in medical camps, serving nutritious meals to more than 300 patients in a hospital, cleaning hospital premises and temples and service at homes for the elderly.
