Holi, also known as the ‘Festival of Colors,’ is joyously celebrated annually by Hindu communities, with music, dance, and the exuberant fun of splashing colored powder and water at one another. On March 11, 2023, Young Adults from the SSSIO in Trinidad and Tobago organized a vibrant Holi celebration at Sai Nilayam.
Approximately 150 people attended the event, including students of the Sathya Sai Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Center and Sathya Sai Primary School in Longdenville.
The evening began with opening remarks by the National Young Adult Coordinator and was followed by devotional singing led by the young adults. Abir powder (colored powder used during Holi) was distributed to all, while chowtaal singers delivered traditional Indian folksongs. Everyone present, especially the children, had exhilarating fun for about two hours as they danced, played, and got splashed with colored powder.
