The Nura is a major river and the lifeline of northeast-central Kazakhstan. Yet, recent history shows a painful story of pollution in and around the river. Offering their salutations to Baba, SSSIO volunteers in Kazakhstan cleaned the banks for an entire day on July 23, 2022, collecting 12 large bags of garbage. Along similar lines, on July 25, members of the Almaty Sai Center cleaned up the banks of their local river – Malaya Almatinka. Having filled the day in Karma Yoga, they spent a few hours in Bhakti and Jnana Yoga through a zonal online meeting where they shared their experiences and lessons from the activity.
