The uncertainty caused by the pandemic intensified spiritual practices by many people world-wide, in order to maintain inner peace. In Riyadh, devotees participated in weekly devotional songs (bhajans) along with Vedic chanting and sacred reading (Parayana) of Sai literature. About 33 people completed the reading of Gita Vahini (commentary on Bhagavad Gita written by Sri Sathya Sai Baba) and around 35 people read Prema Vahini (Stream of Love written by Sri Sathya Sai Baba). Similarly, in the cities of Jeddah and Jubail/Al Khobar, weekly online bhajans and study circles were held. Vedic Chanting was also conducted with reading of Rama Katha Rasa Vahini (commentary on Ramayana by Sri Sathya Sai Baba) and Bhagavad Gita.
Additionally, volunteers provided dry food items, including rice, oil, lentils, and tea to many people. Sandwiches, croissants, juice, water, fruit and laban (yogurt drink) were also provided. To further assist those impacted by the pandemic, face masks, gloves, and financial assistance for obtaining residential permits (Iqama) were given to help people.
