Sai Spiritual Education (SSE) students from the Sathya Sai Centre of North San Diego, California have been serving food to families in need since 2018. The service began with a volunteer dropping off food bags assembled by the SSE students. Then a five-year-old SSE student expressed an earnest wish to serve in person. The service evolved so that now, SSE students, along with adult volunteers, serve fresh and healthy, home-cooked vegetarian food to homeless families. The service takes place once every two months at the Solutions for Change, a local organisation serving families in transition. On 15 December 2019, volunteers celebrated Christmas with these families by singing Christmas Carols and distributing hygiene kits.
