SSIO members organised a “Walk for Values” as part of the 2018 Fourth of July Parade by the City of Bridgeton, Missouri. Around 30 members of the Greater St. Louis Sathya Sai Centre joined in Bridgeton’s annual Independence Day Parade, carrying placards with various inspirational messages on the five human values: Truth, Right Conduct, Peace, Love and Non-violence. Crowds lining the streets enthusiastically applauded and cheered when they saw the “Walk for Values” banner, human value placards and a “Help Ever Hurt Never” banner with the symbols of major world religions. The contingent also showcased a “Values” truck and Gandhi’s inspirational message, “Be the change you want to see in the world”. SSIO participants experienced a joyous sense of oneness with the community, as the onlookers cheered them on despite the sweltering heat.
