SSIO members of Canberra, Australia, prepared birthing kits for women in disadvantaged communities around the world, to facilitate clean and safe childbirths. Over the past five years, more than 1,700 birthing kits have been distributed. This service activity, coinciding with Guru Poornima celebrations, took place in coordination with the Birthing Kit Foundation of Australia, which provides assistance during childbirth to women who are physically or culturally isolated.
