Members of the SSIO of Mexico commemorated the Mahasamadhi of Sathya Sai Baba with heightened spiritual practices and service activities during April 2017. At Sathya Sai Centres in Guadalajara, Torreón, Monterrey, and Piloto, members related how their lives had been transformed by Baba’s teachings. Alexis Treviño, a Young Adult from Monterrey, said, “It has been a huge blessing to find God in this life and to know that God is closer than I ever imagined.” Inspirational lectures on human values were delivered at the Sathya Sai Centre at Escandón. Sathya Sai members from Chihuahua and the Autonomous University of Chihuahua held a fifth medical camp on 22nd April 2017 at Frida Kahlo School in the city of El Paso del Norte for the residents of a marginalised colony. Indigent residents were educated about preventive health care and given clothing, along with haircuts, which they could not afford. Children received lessons in human values. On 23rd April, 40 members of the Sathya Sai Centre of Monterrey held a Walk for Values in Central Alameda Park. They sang songs of love, peace, and brotherhood, and distributed sweets and bookmarks bearing the teachings of Sathya Sai Baba. After the walk, the group gathered in a circle to reflect on the importance of creating awareness of human values in the context of current social ills. On 30th April, Sathya Sai members from Veracruz served food at the city’s General Hospital.
