National Tree Day, an annual Australian event promoted by Planet Ark, encourages planting trees, shrubs, and ground covers to enhance the environment. This year, SSSIO Australia participated in group planting events organized by local councils, Planet Ark, and private initiatives. Tree saplings were planted throughout July, but the main event was held on Sunday, July 28, 2024. These activities align with the Sai 100 One Million (OM) tree-planting initiative to commemorate Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s 100th Birthday. Over 100 SSSIO members of all ages joined these local efforts to plant over 3,700 trees, shrubs, and ground cover.
Despite varying weather conditions, participants enthusiastically engaged in these tree-planting activities, dedicating each plant with love to Sai. The events fostered camaraderie and provided a meaningful experience, connecting the participants with Mother Earth. Tree planting remains an ongoing endeavor for SSSIO groups in Australia, with more events planned throughout the year.
