In October 2019, the young adults (YAs) of Central San Jose Sathya Sai Centre in California organised two carnival-style Halloween parties. The first party was held at a homeless shelter in Sunnyvale, California where dinner was served, followed by face-painting, karaoke and various games and craft activities. The YAs took photos of the children in their Halloween costumes to give to them as mementos. They also distributed gifts and toys.
The second party was held in downtown San Jose, California, where about 60 children from low-income families were treated to pizza and Halloween-themed cupcakes. In addition to face-painting and photo booths, there were also booths for rock painting, henna art, ping-pong, bowling and other fun games. Even the adult volunteers got into the spirit and wore Halloween costumes, making the event even more memorable and fun for the children.
