Women volunteers from the Sathya Sai Center of South Bethesda, Maryland started a unique project in March 2019 called Knots of Love. Nearly 30 volunteers learnt how to knit and supplied 500 knitted baby hats of various styles and vibrant colours to the Queens Hospital in New York City. As part of this project, the Center members bought flannel cloth, cut the fabric, and sewed 112 baby blankets which they packaged along with baby bibs and diapers. These items were gift packaged with loving messages and donated to the non-profit organisation Inspire as well as the local White Marsh Seventh day Adventist Church, Baltimore. Inspire gave 55 of these gift packages to underprivileged mothers while the Church distributed the remaining 57 packages at a community baby shower for needy mothers.
