Villages in northern Sri Lanka were devastated by floods during the monsoon season in early 2019, forcing large-scale evacuations. SSIO volunteers, including nearly 20 Young Adults, from the local Sathya Sai Centre, organised a medical camp on 13th January 2019 for the local village residents. The medical camp included health check-ups and talks on health education. In addition, the volunteers distributed care packages consisting of dry rations, clothes, mats, and miscellaneous household items to alleviate the suffering of the disaster victims.
