On 10th and 11th December 2016, 16 people attended a youth conference in Vinnitsa to discuss leadership as taught by Sathya Sai Baba. Sathya Sai Youth spoke about the activities of the youth wing and the Serve the Planet initiative, and the National Council President of Ukraine delivered an inspiring talk on personal leadership. Delegates then participated in round table discussions on the teachings of Sathya Sai Baba and viewed photographs and videos from Bhagawan’s 91st Birthday celebrations in Prasanthi Nilayam. The second day’s activities included a game in the Ukrainian language with a spiritual message. The youth also took part in an interesting game of brainstorming to identify and prioritise their most important qualities. They then applied the lessons learnt to the most pressing human-induced environmental issues having negative impacts on Mother Earth and causing widespread starvation, destruction and extinction of flora and fauna, and pollution of air and water. The youth discussed solutions to these problems and planned a project management module to be offered online in the future. In terms of personal efforts, the youth resolved to help the environment by performing small acts of service every day, such as categorising and recycling waste materials, saving water and electricity, feeding animals, and avoiding food waste.
