On Earth Day, 22nd April 2017, young adults of the SSIO hosted a nature walk and outdoor session at Parramatta Lake, Sydney, focusing on the reduction of plastic waste and plastic use. They conducted a study circle on identifying plastic usage and practical methods to reduce or eliminate it. Participants pledged to use reusable items such as drink bottles and bags instead of disposable or single-use plastic goods. Each person received a canvas bag to decorate with a personal expression about the environment. Participants also walked around the lake to appreciate its natural beauty and reflect on Sathya Sai Baba’s teachings on nature.
